Francisco Interview: First day

Nick Franze                                                                                                                         8-26-15
Interviewed: Francisco

The first day of college English is always difficult, between having a new teacher, new classmates and new ways of writing that you have never tried before today.  There are many ways to break the ice but for my class it came down to an interview with one other student, and his name was Francisco.  Francisco is an 18 year old, who recently graduated high school and is looking to have a major in Civil Engineering.  Francisco has a few interests in writing such as poetry and creative writing, his English writing skills are average.
As I interviewed Francisco, it became more apparent that his interests go beyond writing, and one thing he enjoys is playing and watching soccer with Family and Friends.  One of the questions asked was “What previous experience do you have with computers?”, and to me I thought that question was kind of silly cause I assumed I was going to get the basic answer of yes.  However, Francisco told me he knows how to use all the Microsoft documents and Adobe.  I personally thought that the adobe part was interesting because I don’t even know how to use adobe so to me I thought that was impressive.
Francisco doesn’t like to use social media just as a personal choice and I can respect his decision.  Social networking now a day is a very dangerous, between the child abductions, cyber stalking and worst of all is the cyber bullying.  Francisco wasn’t asked if he was cyber bullied but in his response to the question, I assumed that he had never been.  Its surprising the things you learn about other people on the first day of class, usually everyone wants to keep to themselves or if they know anybody from a prior class or school.  Towards the end of my interview with Francisco, There were a few more personal questions I still had to ask him.
As the end of the interview drew near, there were something’s that Francisco and I had in common, we both are looking forward to becoming better and more comfortable in our writing abilities.  Foreseen problems that I see happening for me is I will not be comfortable reading my writing because usually to me, my writing is sloppy.  Generally workloads are very scary in that it piles up and looks intimidating to the eye and can make my writing feel rushed, Francisco and I both see eye to eye with that.  Biggest trouble I, as well as Francisco, can see having is argument writing due to our lack of ability to find back up facts to help support the main argument.  There’s one thing me and Francisco can both agree on, this is going to our first time blogging and were both looking forward to it.
